However, there are also several disadvantages of VoIP phone systems. Unlike land lines that don’t drop calls, calls made using VoIP may be dropped more often. Most of the companies, offering VoIP phone systems, also offer improving the service for less dropped calls, but anyway this technology is not perfect yet.

VoIP phone systems damages the budget of big telecommunication companies very badly, and their reaction is very strict. For instance, AT&T and Vodafone prohibited Nokia to pre-install Skype (most popular VoIP program) on their telephones. In some countries using of VoIP is prohibited at all, this is the case for the UAE, North Korea and some other counties. However, there are no restrictions on use of VoIP phone systems in US, Canada, Australia and Europe.

Digital VoIP phone systems can save a great deal for everyone, especially for big companies, that rely on frequent communications and which have offices in different parts of the world.
